The rise of various online product sales platforms comes with its share of advantages and disadvantages. It allows us to compare offers from different companies to find the one that best suits our budget. The purchase of medical equipment is no exception to this rule.
Choice made by ResMed:
For over a year now, ResMed, the manufacturer of devices and masks for treating sleep apnea, has removed its products from websites such as Amazon and eBay. Their products are highly specialized. For this reason, the company prefers that sales be handled by trained and qualified suppliers. ResMed has invested a great deal of time and money into the design and manufacturing of its products. They are committed to ensuring that buyers receive proper guidance and follow-up.
At Clinique TCO, we are seeing more and more clients coming to us with issues such as nasal congestion, dry mouth, or a sansation of too much air or pressure coming from their device.
We have observed that these problems are often linked to generic masks purchased from Amazon. Many copies of the AirFit N20 and AirFit F20 masks are available online. Despite their similar apperance, there is one key difference from the original masks: the exhalation valve’s airflow is significantly higher in these copies compared to the masks manufactured by ResMed.
